The many faces of KMC

Since education is a sine qua non to national development, we believe every child has a fundamental right to education. Unfortunately, education is not always possible due to lack of resources. KMC has seen firsthand the intimate connection between education and health care maintenance. Especially in conditions like diabetes where it is essential to keep a trend of your blood sugar in order to keep an accurate record of medication efficacy and appropriate disease management. As such, we believe in the importance of education for improving health outcomes.

In addition to healthcare management, KMC aims to improve access to education to underscore the close relationships between physical health and academic success. As a result of this education initiative, KMC started a scholarship program to support children who are able to attend school but lack the financial means. Through this program, 40 KMC patients have school fees, uniforms, books and supplies sponsored in order to ensure successful completion of secondary education and university preparation.

While the scholar program is the first implementation of our education initiative, KMC is eager to see it evolve as more kids are able to enrol in school through participation in this program. In order to ensure a brighter future and sustainable prosperity, a vocational program for the young adults will be launched in the not too distant future to cater to our ageing pediatric population.
